When I want a fast, simple way to add an elegant element to a meal, I turn to green beans. Green beans can be found at the grocery store virtually any time of year and can be prepared in a minutes.

Ingredients:
2 pounds green beans
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoon olive oil
Shreaded Asiago cheese (Parmesan cheese may be substituted).
salt
pepper
Directions:
Remove ends from green beans and wash with cold water. Peel and dice garlic.
Boil water in a large pot. Add beans and cook for 3-4 minutes. Remove beans and place in ice cold water, then drain.
Add oil and garlic to a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook 1-2 minutes. Take care not to burn garlic
Add green beans. Stir until beans are well coated with olive oil and garlic. Cook 5-7 minutes or until beans are tender-crisp.
Remove beans from skillet and arrange on a serving platter. While hot, sprinkle beans generously with Asiago cheese.
